I couldn’t wait to get some video of the car in action. So I wrestled my wife and daughter out of bed this morning at about 6:30 so we could go over to the shop. We got there at about 7 to find Doug already at work.
I grabbed 3x 12 volt batteries and brought them out to the car. Since I didn’t need headlights this morning, I got to run this test at 36 volts. I dumped the batteries in the car and got everything hooked up. With camera (and memory card) in hand, we got some good video of the car in action. Check it out on the video gallery page.
Just like before, it doesn’t make even the slightest sound when you’re driving it. It’s almost eerie at first, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it – especially since gas prices are going back up again.
We’re far from done yet however. There’s a pretty long list of things that need to be done to make it my daily commuter. I’ll spend a good amount of time in the shop this week (mornings and after work) and will put in another full weekend. I would like to have it commuting by next Monday. There will still be a good deal of work that needs to be done, but it should be ready by then.
As I mentioned above, there is a new video, and a new picture. I will get more this week, I’ve just been a bit excited and haven’t paid much attention to getting proper pictures.
